Self-generated power – Baumann Automation focuses on sustainability

25. Mai 2021

Baumann Automation plays an active role in environmental protection and has installed photovoltaic systems on the roofs of the production halls and office building for generating its own power.

The photovoltaic system modules, installed on 7060 square meters of space, generate a total output of 581.21 kilowatt peak (kWp). Baumann Automation is expecting to produce 540 MWh of solar power per year, and this will cover around 28% of its total annual power requirement.

From an economic perspective too, it makes sense to pursue a policy of sustainability and clean power. Thanks to the new PV modules, the company is able to achieve a high degree of self-sufficiency. In good weather especially, almost all the power needed in the company is generated by its own solar plant. If the weather is poor or during the winter when there is less sunshine, the company falls back on the power from the regional suppliers.

Climate and environmental protection are high on Baumann Automation's agenda and the family-owned company is constantly on the look-out for sustainable solutions.
